I watched Jules recently…

And I don’t know why—

it felt so heavy.

Not in a loud, dramatic way.

But in a quiet, lingering way.

The story is simple—

An extraterrestrial alien crashes into the life of an elderly, lonely man named Milton.

But what stayed with me was not the alien.

It was the loneliness.

The Weight of Loneliness

Milton lives alone.

There is this subtle hint—

that he might be slipping into memory loss…

maybe even Alzheimer’s.

He forgets things.

Repeats things.

And yet…

no one is really there.

that loneliness…

is what makes the movie feel heavy.

A Grey World… Until Jules Arrives

The entire movie feels like it is in a grey shade.

Jules appears.

in Milton’s face.

In the two elderly women around him.
