When Pressure Feels Like a No
I remember one thing about me, one of my qualities, or maybe my character, I don’t know what to call it.
If somebody forces me to do something…
like gives me too much pressure…
I won’t do that.
Even if a group of people are pressurising me to do something…
I won’t do that.
I don’t know if it is a good thing or a bad thing.
But I really believe one thing—
Those who genuinely want good for you,
those who want the best for you…
They will give you a chance to decide.
They won’t force.
They will give you space…
a breathing space…
to decide.
The Feeling of Pressure
Even close ones sometimes…
pressurise me.
To choose a dress,
to do something,
Saying things like:
“You are bold enough”
“You can handle it”
“Just do it”
But honestly…
that forcing gives me a lot of negative vibes.
I really don’t like that feeling.
Because for me—
it’s my life.
Even a small decision…
I should take it, right?
I’m Not Talking About Advice
I am not saying—
don’t give suggestions
don’t give advice
That is completely different.
Some people genuinely care and say:
“Try dieting”
“Start working out”
“Start with 2K or 3K, then slowly grow”
That feels different.
That feels like support.
Not pressure.
I am not speaking exactly in a structured way…
but I am trying to understand this difference.
Where This Came From
Maybe this quality I have…
came from my childhood.
Because in my family, I was always told:
“Don’t do anything just because somebody asked you to.”
“If you love to do it, then only do it.”
“Otherwise, tell your mumma about it.”
That training…
became my default setting.
💛 My Thought
So now, I feel like—
I don’t resist people
I resist pressure
And I choose only what feels like mine.
