What Olympic sports do you enjoy watching the most?
If you ask me which Olympic sport I enjoy watching the most…
Honestly—
I was never that person.
I was not someone who followed Olympic sports.
I didn’t have that connection.
But something changed.
Not suddenly.
But slowly.
It started with simple walks.
3K walks.
Then 5K walks.
Then those walks became jogging.
And slowly…
👉 running.
And that’s when I began to understand—
The speed.
The pace.
The effort.
The discipline.
How hydration matters.
How electrolytes balance your energy.
How every small thing makes a difference.
And that’s when…
👉 I started enjoying races.
Especially relay races.
🌊 A Memory That Stayed With Me
But maybe…
this connection didn’t start now.
It goes back to my college days.
In 2012, during my first year…
it was sports day.
I was not into sports at all.
Arts day?
That was my space.
I participated in everything:
monoact skit writing fancy dress music
Almost 17 performances.
But sports day?
I didn’t even give my name.
Then one of my seniors came to me.
He said—
👉 “Just participate in the running race.”
👉 “We don’t expect prizes… we just need participation.”
And honestly?
That felt like an insult to me.
Because on arts day…
they had full confidence in me.
But here…
it felt like I was just filling a space.
Still…
I went.
And I told myself—
👉 “Just run your best.”
And I ran.
Not casually.
Not just for participation.
I ran with everything I had.
And I won.
First prize.
Then I got selected for the next rounds.
100m… 200m… even more.
And then the relay race—
with my group.
And we won that too.
I still remember that moment—
My seniors cheering.
Clapping loudly.
Looking at me in surprise.
One of them said—
👉 “I didn’t know you could run like this… you don’t seem like it.”
And others said—
👉 “She was flying.”
That moment stayed with me.
🌱 Coming Back Again
After that…
life happened.
There was a long break.
Then I started walking again—
for my health.
Then small events.
Then bigger ones.
And now—
👉 I have completed a 10K run.
In 1 hour 36 minutes.
And for me…
that is a big achievement.
Because I did it—
👉 after becoming a mother
👉 one and a half years after delivery
And that made it even more meaningful.
💛 What I Feel Now
Now, when I watch races—
I don’t just see people running.
I see:
discipline preparation years of effort
I understand the difference between:
👉 seconds
👉 milliseconds
I feel the spirit.
And something very small…
but very real—
I notice calf muscles.
Not in a wrong way.
But with respect.
Because they show:
👉 the work
👉 the strength
👉 the dedication
It’s like a silent identity of effort.
🌿 My Answer
So if you ask me now—
👉 I enjoy watching races.
Not because I always loved it.
But because now—
👉 I understand it.
