Some moments in life don’t come with words…
they come with silence, observation, and a quiet breaking within.
This is one such piece I wrote —
about the moments I didn’t say anything… but felt everything. 🌿
On the funeral day of my dad,
when they asked my cousin brother to do the rituals,
I saw the patriarchs of my own blood.
When the eyes of family members
became unfamiliar… almost scary after my dad’s death,
I saw the reality of guardianship.
When wedding invitations reached everyone
except us,
I saw how society treats widowhood.
When my Mumma got a second chance,
I saw intolerance
in the most unexpected minds.
Being alone in family gatherings
taught me—
life won’t go as planned.
When groupism crept into my own friendships,
I understood the weight of casteism.
I have seen people change
at the speed of a flashlight.
Being replaced—
by anyone—
was the worst feeling I ever felt,
especially when it came as a gift from love.
Still,
I replied to everyone with a smile.
I blamed the color of my skin
for everything.
When nobody stood beside me,
I walked alone
on a harsh midday,
without a destination.
And in that moment,
I learned—
loneliness is not always weakness.
These were the moments
I didn’t say anything…
but felt everything.
From my daily writing practice —
one moment, one truth, one poem at a time.
