Silence Is Not Neutral
I have seen people staying silent in many situations—
👉 bullying
👉 groupism
👉 emotional and mental harm
👉 social exclusion
👉 even subtle forms of violence
Not physical violence—
but still violence.
A kind of ahimsa being broken in everyday ways.
What Silence Does
What I have noticed is—
👉 people stay silent
👉 and slowly, they start normalizing it
They say—
👉 “These things happen”
👉 “It’s common”
👉 “Just ignore it”
But it should not happen.
It should never be normal.
Silence Is Also Participation
Staying silent is not neutral.
👉 it is also a form of participation
Because if you see something wrong
and choose not to speak—
👉 you are indirectly allowing it
Many people stay silent because—
- they don’t want trouble
- they don’t want attention
- they don’t want to get involved
But that silence—
👉 supports the very thing they are avoiding.
What Makes Us Human
Being human is not just about existing.
👉 it is about standing up
👉 it is about speaking when something is wrong
If we normalize harm—
👉 we lose our humanity.
My Belief
For me—
there are not just categories like:
- male or female
- high class or low class
- this group or that group
I feel like there are only two kinds of people—
👉 Humane
👉 Inhumane
💫 The Question
So the real question is—
👉 which one do you choose to be?
