What animals make the best/worst pets?
If you ask me which animal makes the best or worst pet…
Honestly—
👉 I am not a pet lover.
I am actually scared of animals.
Not just wild ones—
even domestic animals and birds.
I never grew up having pets around me.
Except for one.
🌊 My Only Pet
I had a fish.
A fighter fish.
I named her Sundari.
She was with me for almost 2–3 years.
And I still remember how sad I felt when I lost her.
So for me—
👉 fish will always be one of the best pets.
Quiet.
Calm.
Simple.
🌱 My Experience with Dogs
Even though I am scared of animals…
I have seen something beautiful.
My husband’s family has four dogs.
And on the very first day of my marriage…
When they introduced me to them—
I saw something unexpected.
They accepted me.
Like I was already a part of the family.
They didn’t scare me.
They didn’t react aggressively.
They just observed me.
Watched me.
And I could feel—
👉 they knew I was “one of them” now.
That feeling stayed with me.
Even once—
I travelled with one of them, Bella, a black pit-bull to the hospital.
I was scared.
Really scared.
But I trusted my husband and father-in-law.
And slowly…
I noticed something.
She was calm.
Quiet.
Looking outside.
And I felt okay.
So even though I am still scared—
👉 I believe dogs make one of the best pets.
Because of their loyalty and acceptance.
🌿 About Cats
Now, coming to cats…
I know this might not be a popular opinion.
And I am really sorry to cat lovers 💛
But from my experience—
I found it difficult.
We used to feed cats milk near our home.
But they would:
make the place messy disturb the surroundings
And I didn’t feel that connection.
Maybe it’s not the cat.
Maybe it’s me.
👉 Maybe I don’t know how to care for them properly.
So for me—
👉 cats feel like the hardest pet to handle.
💛 My Truth
I am not a pet person.
But from what I have experienced—
👉 Best pets (for me): fish and dogs
👉 Most difficult (for me): cats
And I think that’s okay.
Because choosing a pet is not about what is “best” in general.
👉 It’s about what you can connect with
👉 what you are comfortable with
👉 what you can care for
