Last week, something very small… but very meaningful happened.
After such a long time, I finally went on a trip—not a big, planned vacation, not something fancy—but something my heart has been quietly craving for years.
You know, every time I publish a book, I always tell myself,
“Okay, one week… just one week, I want to go somewhere.”
A peaceful staycation.
A quiet resort.
A forest walk.
A lake view.
A seashore evening.
Just… pause life a little.
But somehow, because of situations, responsibilities, life… it never really happened.
And the funny part is—I had actually made a list of places to visit in Trivandrum itself, way back in 2021.
And Amboori was one among them.
But I didn’t plan this trip.
Life planned it for me.
🌄 When Plans Change… Something Better Finds You
My cousins had planned a small birthday outing.
Initially, the idea was simple—we would go, spend some time, and return the same night, especially because we both have kids.
We actually planned for Ponmudi and nearby waterfalls around there.
But you know how it goes…
With kids, time moves differently 😄
Getting ready gets delayed, starting the journey gets delayed… and by the time we reached near the place—
It was closed.
Forest area. High range. Timing over.
So suddenly, the plan had to change.
A lot of calls, a lot of confusion… and finally, we decided to go towards Amboori .
And honestly…
That unplanned turn became the most beautiful part of the day.
⛰️ The Moment That Reset Me
On the way itself, I saw something I can’t even fully explain.
It felt like a flow of mountains.
Like a river… but made of mountains.
Moving, layered, endless.
For a moment, I just paused inside.
Wow.
That single view…
That one moment…
It felt like someone quietly went inside me and reset everything.
My thoughts.
My emotions.
My tiredness.
Everything.
🌿 One Hour… That Felt Like Healing
When we reached, we didn’t do anything extraordinary.
No big activities.
No rushing.
No “let’s cover everything.”
We just… stayed.
Walked a little.
Stood quietly.
Looked at the mountains, the lake, the sky.
Clear sky.
No city noise.
No horns.
Just… silence.
And for the first time in a long time—I didn’t even take my phone from the car.
My cousins took photos, but I didn’t feel like holding my phone.
I just wanted to be there.
To feel it fully.
We spent around one hour there… but honestly, it felt like something much deeper than time.
👗 A Small Joy… That Felt Like a Sign
That same morning, a dress I had ordered got delivered.
And I remember thinking…
“Okay… nature even gave me a perfect dress for this day.”
It really felt like I was going on a date.
A date with nature 💚
👶 Reality Comes Back… But Softly
Of course, life doesn’t pause completely.
On the way back, my baby was fully active 😄
She wanted to run everywhere, explore everything.
And I could see her curiosity… but at the same time, it was a little risky—vehicles, lakeside, open spaces.
So I had to carry her, manage her, calm her.
It wasn’t easy.
But something was different.
Even though I was tired…
I didn’t feel irritated.
That’s when I realised—
Something inside me had changed.
🌱 What Nature Really Did
I was calm.
Not because everything was perfect…
But because I was full inside.
That one hour…
That one view…
That one connection…
It gave me something I didn’t even realise I was missing.
And when you’re full within,
you don’t react the same way.
You respond differently.
🌊 We Need This More Than We Think
I truly feel…
At least once in a while—maybe once a month—
we should all take this time.
Not for luxury.
Not for content.
Not for posting.
But for connection.
Because humans don’t exist separate from nature.
We coexist.
And somewhere in our busy, structured, screen-filled lives…
We forget that.
But the moment you go back—
Even for one hour—
You remember.
💭 A Small Wish
I hope I get to do this more often.
Not as a plan.
Not as a task.
But as a way of living.
Because that day reminded me of something very simple…
Sometimes, healing doesn’t need effort.
It just needs a view. 🌿
