What’s something you used to worry about but don’t anymore?
I used to worry a lot about one question:
What if it doesn’t work out?
I have carried that question with me for years. Every time I wanted something, every time I made a decision, every time I stepped towards something uncertain, that little question would follow me.
What if it doesn’t work out?
But somewhere along the way, I stopped being afraid of the answer.
Now I think, if it works out, maybe it is meant for me.
And if it doesn’t, maybe that is meant for me too.
Maybe some doors refuse to open because I am not supposed to walk through them. Maybe some doors close halfway through the journey because I was only meant to walk that path until that point. Maybe there is another door waiting somewhere that I cannot see yet.
Or perhaps there isn’t.
And strangely, I’m okay with that too.
I don’t need to know exactly what is waiting on the other side anymore.
I just need to trust that whatever happens, I will find my way through it.
So when that old question comes back—
What if this doesn’t work out?
I have a different answer now:
Then maybe it wasn’t supposed to. And maybe that, too, will work out for my good.
