Which is the best restaurant in your city?
If you ask me what the best restaurant in my city is, I honestly don’t know how to answer.
I’m from Trivandrum, and I feel like the “best restaurant” depends entirely on what you are looking for. For me, certain restaurants have certain masterpieces.
For chilli chicken, I love Open House. For Chicken 65, I would choose Azaad. For coffee, there is something nostalgic about Café Coffee Day. And when I want pizza, I somehow end up at McDonald’s. Maybe these aren’t everyone’s choices, but that’s exactly the point.
I don’t think “the best restaurant” should be a general title. Every restaurant, every bakery, every little food place has something that it does exceptionally well. Sometimes, you don’t go to a restaurant for the entire menu. You go because you are craving that one particular thing they make better than anyone else.
So if someone asks me, “Where do you get the best food?”
That answer is much easier.
My mama’s kitchen.
Because no restaurant in the world can compete with food that comes with a little bit of love, memory, and home.
