From Chandrataal to Switzerland

What are your top 10 travel destinations?

My Top 10 Travel Destinations

I am not sure whether I have a perfect “top 10” list, but when I think about the places that truly call me, these are the destinations that come to my heart first. Some I have already been blessed to visit, and some are dreams waiting for the right season of life.

1. Maldives

This was my first foreign trip, so it will always remain special. The endless blue water, the silence of the sea, and the feeling of being surrounded by sky and ocean made it unforgettable.

2. Chandrataal, Himalayas

The Himalayas are not just mountains for me; they feel like a spiritual landscape. Chandrataal, with its stillness and vastness, is one of the most beautiful places I have experienced.

3. Italy

Italy feels like walking through art itself. History, architecture, food, and culture seem to exist together in every street.

4. Edinburgh, Scotland

Edinburgh has the kind of atmosphere that makes a writer want to keep a notebook in hand. The stone buildings, misty weather, and literary history deeply attract me.

5. The English Villages of Literature

This is less a destination and more a longing. I want to walk through the English villages that echo with the worlds of Chaucer, Shakespeare, and the writers I studied in literature. I want to see the countryside that shaped those stories.

6. Japan

Not the glittering modern image of Tokyo, but the quieter Japan — Zen gardens, temples, tea houses, wooden pathways, and the philosophy of Ikigai. I feel a deep connection to that simplicity.

7. Seoul, South Korea

Partly because of my BTS phase and my love for K-dramas, but also because I am curious about the rhythm of Seoul — its people, streets, food, and culture.

8. Paris, France

The Eiffel Tower is of course iconic, but what draws me more is the idea of sitting in a small café, watching the city move around me.

9. Switzerland

I honestly cannot believe I almost forgot Switzerland. Snow-covered mountains, lakes, trains winding through valleys — it feels like a postcard that somehow became real.

10. Meghalaya, India

Among all the foreign destinations, Meghalaya remains close to my heart. The living root bridges, waterfalls, rain-soaked landscapes, and lush green hills feel magical.

When I look at this list, I realize something about myself: I do not travel only to see places. I travel to feel a different kind of silence, to walk through stories, and to return home carrying a new way of seeing the world.
