Describe a random encounter with a stranger that stuck out positively to you.
A Small Encounter That Stayed With Me
When I read this question,
I didn’t think of any big or dramatic moment.
But one small incident came to my mind.
Usually, when I travel—
👉 I am on my phone
👉 checking messages
👉 scrolling
👉 or just thinking about my plans
If I have something planned,
my mind is completely stuck on that.
🌊 That Evening
It was one evening.
I was in a rush, going here and there,
and I think I had gone to give my car to the service center.
While coming back,
I took an auto rickshaw.
I was tired.
Usually, I would just take my phone
and start scrolling.
But that day—
👉 I didn’t.
I even took my phone in my hand,
but then I just put it back in my bag.
A Small Conversation
I asked the auto rickshaw uncle—
👉 “Have you had tea?”
He was surprised.
He said yes,
and then he asked me—
👉 “Have you eaten?
Do you want to stop somewhere?
You look tired.”
It felt genuine.
I said no, it’s okay.
Being Present
And then—
for the first time in a long time—
👉 I just looked around.
No phone.
No distraction.
I saw—
- the traffic
- people moving around
- cars, bikes, school buses
- signals
- small shops
I was completely present in that moment.
What Followed
After getting down,
I didn’t go home immediately.
👉 I went for a small walk
I bought tea and snacks for my mom,
and walked back home.
When I reached—
👉 my baby was waiting for me
I gave her a hug,
gave the snacks to my mom,
and she was surprised.
She asked—
👉 “You got down there? You walked?”
And I said—
👉 “Yeah… I just felt like it.”
Another Small Moment
At the tea shop—
people who knew me asked—
👉 “You were pregnant last time… how is your baby now?”
They even said—
👉 “Bring her sometime… we want to see her.”
It was just a random conversation.
But it felt… good.
My Realization
I am usually someone
who is scared of strangers.
But sometimes—
👉 these small, random interactions
👉 bring a smile to your face.
Even now, while writing this—
👉 it feels good.
My Truth
I don’t have very big, powerful encounters
that changed my life.
But these small moments—
👉 they stay
👉 they soften something inside
👉 they make me smile
And that is enough.
