Beyond Bloodlines

By

Describe a positive thing a family member has done for you.

A Positive Thing a Family Member Has Done for Me

Nothing.

Actually, nobody from my family has ever done anything positive, supportive, or good for me.

But—

people outside my bloodline have.

A lot.

The Unexpected People

Especially the unexpected ones—

strangers friends people I never thought would be there

They have shown up for me.

Not just in small ways—

👉 but with real presence

👉 emotional consistency

👉 support

Even—

physical presence financial help social and spiritual support

They have done a lot for me.

My Realization

For a long time, this used to surprise me.

But later, I understood something—

👉 it is not always true that blood is thicker than water.

I don’t believe in that anymore.

Because in my life—

👉 nobody from my blood family has shown up for me in that way.

In fact, sometimes—

👉 there were jealousy

👉 negativity

👉 even from close ones

And because of that—

👉 we chose distance.

💛 What Stayed With Me

So if you ask me—

👉 a positive thing done by a family member?

👉 No one.

But—

👉 the universe has always placed the right people

outside my circle, outside my expectations,

outside my family—

to help me whenever I needed it.

🌿 My Truth

I’m sorry to say this—

but this is my truth.

And I know—

👉 I’m not the only one who feels this way.

Nice little piece, this is sad but true. Blood is not always thicker than water
